The Definition of Broke - For The Benefit Of The Washington Politicians

Broke       = Penniless

Penniless = Destitute

Destitute  = Pauperized, or reduced to Poverty

Synonyms: beggared, beggarly, poor, destitute, dirt-poor,down-and-out, famished, hard up, impecunious,impoverished, indigent, necessitous, needful, needy,pauperized, penniless, penurious, poverty-stricken, threadbare

So why can't Washington understand that you can't spend what you don't have.  You can't raise taxes enough to pay down the debt - no matter how much you take from the "wealthy".

STOP SPENDING!  Soon, our future generations will be born into bankruptcy...give them a chance for crying out loud.

I just thought this was a timely reminder for the politicians as they argue over another budget...

Lisa: When there are very little consequences for those making the "rules" we will continue to get more of the same. It is sad.

Hi Lisa.  When 95% of these idiots gets re-elected we are getting the government we deserve.

The time is long  past due to bring out a big broom . . . . and clear the  home out in Washington.

Good luck and success.

I've just heard both parties claim victory, and from what I understood, we'll be spending more money (defense, etc) and we've extended tax benefits.

So, spend more and make less.  My algebra simply doesn't see how this works out without someone along the way having to pay a lot more.

 Good morning Lisa. As long as there are folks to tax, the politicians in DC will not be broke. They have us to lean on.

Lisa well said, if I do not make any money I can not take money from the ATM machine.... nor can I print new money.... I guess it is a simple formula the money I make I can spend, the money I do not, I can not....Endre
