Once again, counting my blessings and wishing everyone multiple blessings
It has been a difficult week across the nation and particularly here in Dallas with the horrific slaying of our police officers. There is no justification for racist behavior and certainly no justification to target a group for the actions
of any individual. Hate returns hate and the media seems bent on stirring negative emotions rather than focusing on the good that is all around. If society is to survive we must be civilized and thoughtful in our words and deeds. We must all hold ourselves accountable for both our actions and our inactions. I believe these quotes from Edmund Burke stand the test of time:
Justice is itself the great standing policy of civil society; and any eminent departure from it, under any circumstances, lies under the suspicion of being no policy at all.
When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.
A very great part of the mischiefs that vex the world arises from words.
Time for reflection and to take the time to smell the roses, be thankful for all you have and offer a prayer and a helping hand for those who are struggling.
To all, wishing you a peaceful week ahead.
