Dallas, The Final Slain Officer is Laid To Rest - You Can Donate To Help

It has been a tear-filled week here in the Dallas area as our fallen officers have been laid to rest.  The memorial at Dallas Police Headquarters will be carefully categorized and kept in tribute for our Heroes in Blue that were brutally slain.  If you would like to donate to assist the families that lost loved ones, here is information provided by local news station Fox4news:

Donate to the Assist the Officer Foundation

Donate to the Dallas Foundation

Line of Duty Fund

Long-term recovery donations

GoFundMe page for slain DART officer Brent Thompson

GoFundMe page for slain DPD officer Mike Smith

I found this poem online and could not find any copyright so I am sharing it as it is so appropriate for our loss.  To whomever wrote this, and PBF that I could not find a link to, Thank You.

Lisa it has been such a difficult week and so so  very sad.  My heart goes out to the  families of the officers slain and all their loved ones as well as the Dallas community. I can only hope that we find solutions to all these challenges - soon. Lovely poem and tribute - thank you so much for sharing

Lisa these were senseless murders promoted by hate which cannot be justified.  I hope and pray the families affected by this somehow find peace.

Hi Lisa... I can just imagine how difficult this week was for your city. Thanks for the list of ways to donate. I read this poem somewhere earlier last week and it brought tears to my eyes, just as it did now when I read it again.

Good morning Lisa. It seems everyday there is tragedy and just when we are able to breath, another. A lovely tribute.

Lisa I am so sad we have regressed in 8 yrs so far back that it reminds me of the 1960's with the difference that there is less value placed on lives...on a side note Diane has two cousins who are Boston Police Officers so it really touches us, Endre
