Hot Weather, Hot Housing and Hot Things To Do In Dallas

It's summer and there are few places hotter than Dallas, TX...and I don't just mean the heat!

I recently posted the newest first place that Texas won:

And the Great State of Texas

comes in first again!

This time we are leading the

country in new housing starts.

As reported by

Leah Binkovits with the Urban Edge:

Even as oil prices and production were starting to decline, Texas still managed to add people — and housing. Newly released numbers from the Census Bureau show that
Texas built more new housing units than any other state between July 1, 2014 and
July 1, 2015. The state added an impressive 162,312 units for a growth rate of 1.6 percent. Compare that to California, which added 79,977 for a growth rate of only 0.6 percent.

But what are some of the other red hot reasons that Dallas is such a phenomenal place to call home?  Well, our weather for one.  Right now we are in the red hot temperatures of July and August...high 90's and low 100's will be the norm for a few more weeks and then things will cool down.

Why are we excited about the heat?  Because it only lasts for a couple of months and we enjoy a fabulous Fall, mild Winter and beautiful Spring.
How are these temperatures for January...these were ours the week of  January 26th...what were they by you?  Snow, sleet or worse?  Yes, we do get the occasional winter storm, but the inclement weather quickly blows in
and then blow right back out again.

All year long there are multiple thing to do in the Dallas area such as the Dallas Zoo, our fabulous Arts District and Six Flags Over Texas:

And our housing is second to none.  Unbelievable value for the money in single family homes - which is the most dominant housing in our market.
But condominiums and downtown apartment life is gaining ground...

We have been through Dallas but did not get to stop there. Your market has reasonably affordable single family homes as well as the luxury homes.  I hope you get your fair share of the listings and sales! I would have to stay indoors during July and August but enjoy the rest of the year! Thanks Lisa, for your entry into the HOT Contest.  Larry and I are both looking forward to meeting you at NAR in November!

Here in the southern outskirts of Houston, it is hot until way into October. August is the most brutal.

The homes are so pretty and look much like the ones in my town. Nice overview of Dallas' market and things to do.
