Christmas Decorations Are Already in Stores....That's Just Wrong!

Oh Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree....Oh wait, it's only August - so what in the world are Christmas decorations already doing out in the stores? Is it just me, or are the Holidays out of control in the retail world? Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas - I LOVE to decorate and celebrate Christmas. I've been known to have as many as fifteen decorated Christmas trees and miles of decorated garland and lights, lights and more lights. BUT, I do not want to see decorations out in August - actually, I was in the store yesterday - so they were out in July. What do you think?

Oh No Lisa Von Domek, tell me you are dreaming this.  But I just saw Halloween  customers in Sam's club last week.

Well I hate to be MR Scrooge but ughhhh. I have several Holidays that I would like to enjoy before I start thinking about Christmas. I would have to agree with you as far as I love Christmas and the lights and the season, but I think WOW!! Christmas in July is a little early for me.

That is just over the top.  Its way too early.  Although I did receive a Joann's flyer yesterday filled with Halloween decs.  Its only August!

Brrrrrr Lisa Von Domek in Arizona with temps over 100 degrees in August a little Christmas in the Summer does not seem so bad to me. Better than frying an egg on the pavement. Personally, I like to go into the dairy refrigerator at Costco to cool off.

Lisa, now this is just too early - we're not even at Labor Day.  Just finished 4th of July.  And the temperatures are hardly Christmas-like.  I agree with you!  Wait a while - a long while - to deck the halls.

Lisa,

Have not seen it yet...will ignore it if I do.  I hate the feeling of being rushed, and it takes the spirit out of it all.  A

I so agree with you Lisa, it's just wrong! It takes the magic out of the Christmas season. I ignore it best as I can until right after Thanksgiving.. one month of Christmas is plenty!

I so disagree with this early marketing. I saw Halloween and Thanksgiving this weekend in the stores and thought that was bad.

Lisa,   I love Christmas too.  Consumerism around Christmas ... not so much. It is just wrong - wrong - wrong - wrong - wrong and I do not appreciate seeing Christmas decorations in July ... or August.

Sounds like Halloween and Thanksgiving are canceled.

Oh no, say it ain't so, Lisa! I haven't seen this here in Charlotte yet, but also haven't had much of chance to wander around any stores in the past few weeks. I find this so wrong for many reasons.

Lisa that is crazy.  Before to long they will be leaving the Xmas decorations up all year long.

I think there is an order of things and Xmas in August or July is way to early.  To much anticipation.  Of course I am Jewish but I do not like to rain others parades.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel exactly...the Christmas spirit is ruined by Christmas commercialism.

They shouldn't have the decorations out until November...at the earliest Kathleen Daniels and I would really prefer not until after Thanksgiving!

They deserve their own holiday time...and shouldn't be "dumped" by retail Rob D. Shepherd

Good morning Lisa. There is a relatively new thing called Christmas in July where merchants try to lure you in with sales. Not for me either.

Hi Lisa - it is really way too early.  I have never seen it in August.  This really numbs the holiday.

Posted by Grant Schneider, Your Coach Helping You Create Successful Outcomes (Performance Development Strategies) over 3 years ago

August is way too early to see Christmas decorations in the stores. Even more frustrating is trying to find decorating items in late November and December. Everything is sold by that time!

Will you be able to come to the Dallas Meet-up on Thursday?

It's a little early for Christmas decorations to be in the stores.

Good luck and success.

Hello Lisa

And this is very wrong because Vegas Bob celebrates Christmas Day but not the holiday filled with presents, Christmas trees, etc, and I haven't in over 20 years.

So I just shake my head and walk on when I see this crap

Posted by Robert Vegas Bob Swetz, Las Vegas Henderson Homes for Sale (Realty ONE Group) over 3 years ago

That is just crazy... I too don't want to see Christmas in July.  The only way to fix this issue is to not buy anything until Maybe November. That is how I plan to handle this and other issue that are similar.

Ugh and double ugh!  I agree Lisa Von Domek

Halloween stuff is on sale so the stores can bring out Christmas.  Let's celebrate one holiday at a time, please
