Sunday Sweet Tooth - Calling All Chocoholics (Recipe)

This is not my fault, this is a direct result of working while a television is on and the channel is set to the Food Network!  Although I do not eat many sweets, this simple chocolate recipe caught my attention because it is easy to make and easier to share the treats when complete!  Thank you to Trisha Yearwood and her "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" show and online recipes:

Slow Cooker Chocolate Candy

Recipe adapted from Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood (c) Clarkson Potter 2010
Show: Trisha's Southern Kitchen Episode: Trisha's Favorite Foods to Gift
Recipe categories: Chocolate

Total Time: 3 hr 25 min
Prep:  5 min
Inactive: 20 min
Cook:  3 hr 0 min
Yield:  30 to 40 pieces
Level:  Easy

2 pounds salted dry-roasted peanuts
4 ounces German's sweet chocolate (about 4 squares)
One 12-ounce package semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
2 1/2 pounds white almond bark
Put the peanuts in the bottom of a 4-quart slow cooker. Layer the chocolate over the peanuts, beginning with the sweet chocolate, followed by the chocolate chips and then the almond bark. Set the temperature on low and cook for 3 hours. Do not stir the mixture.

After 3 hours, stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until smooth. Drop the candy into cupcake pan liners using about 2 tablespoons per liner. Allow the candy to cool completely before removing the cupcake liners.

This sounds delicious Lisa. I'm a nut for chocolate & peanuts. Put me down for a bakers dozen.

It sounds delicious and easy to make. I will not be making it though as me and my husband would eat it all.

Lisa now that is a sign after my own heart, but I would have a hard time finding a chocolate bar that could come close to being that big :) :) :)

As someone who thinks that chocolate is its own food group, Lisa, this had my mouth watering and I was already playing with ideas to use semi-sweet chocolate. Thanks for the recipe.
