Hurricane Harvey Causing Catastrophic Damage in Texas

According to the last update on Fox4News/Dallas, there are now five reported dead due to the catastrophic flooding in the Houston, TX area.  The initial wave of flooding will not be the last as the storm is predicted to leave land, regain strength in the gulf and return to land with even more rain.

 

 

The City of Dallas is opening an additional "mega shelter" for an additional 5,000 evacuess of Hurricane Harvey.  According to Fox4News:

- The city of Dallas is preparing to house up to 5,000 more people evacuated after Tropical Storm Harvey at a 'mega shelter.'

Officials opened its third shelter Sunday morning at the Samuell Grand Rec Center in Old East Dallas.

Mayor Mike Rawlings visited 300 evacuees at the Walnut Hill Recreation Center Sunday morning, which is at capacity with 290 guests. The Tommie Allen Rec Center has 123 people.
