Chicken Wings Recipe For Sunday Night Football

For the Cowboys game tonight I have a chosen a tasty chicken wing recipe that I think you will enjoy.  After all, any game is better with chicken wings, spicy for do you like yours?  Spicy, Mild, Slightly Sweet?????  Here is another fabulous recipe from the Food Network -

BBQ Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese

BBQ Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Butter

1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
6 ounces Roquefort or other blue cheese, crumbled, room temperature
1/2 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
1/2 cup canned piquillo peppers in brine, drained well
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 cup all-purpose flour
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 1/2 pounds chicken wings, separated at the joint, tips reserved for another use
Canola oil, for frying

In a medium bowl, whisk together the butter and 4 ounces of the blue cheese until very smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl and set aside at room temperature.

In a blender, puree the BBQ sauce, peppers, 1 teaspoon of the cumin and 1 teaspoon of the paprika until smooth. Pour into a large mixing bowl large enough to hold all of the wings.

In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, remaining cumin and paprika, and season it with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the wings with salt and pepper. Fill a deep, heavy pot with 6 inches of oil and heat to 365 degrees F, or preheat a deep fryer.

Toss the chicken wings in the seasoned flour until well coated, shaking off the excess flour. Fry in batches until golden brown, crisp and cooked through, about 13 minutes. Drain briefly on paper towels before adding them to the sauce and tossing them to coat while they are still hot.

Transfer the wings to a serving platter. Dollop a little of the blue cheese butter on top of the wings to melt; serve the rest on the side for dipping. Sprinkle the remaining blue cheese over the top and serve immediately.

I have cooked wings in the air fryer. (I can not eat food with lots of oil, so I have to use air) I use the air fryer for about a year (due to my health reasons) here is my opinion on this device. I use the Philips HD9220

Advantages of air fryer:

  1. multifunctionality;
  2. to prepare food in air fryers do not need fat or oil;
  3. food keeps its qualities better during cooking;
  4. possibility to cook several dishes at once;
  5. The unit is relatively compact, it is easy to transport, use, for example, in the country;
  6. sterilization of cans for canning, drying of mushrooms, berries and fruits;
  7. modes of prolonged warming give the opportunity to smoke and torment the food;
  8. there are no restrictions on the material of the dishes - food is prepared in both wooden and metallic dishes, unlike a microwave oven, in which even cups with shiny enamel cannot be placed.
  9. Dishes should be prepared on the lower or middle grill. The lower grille is the best option, especially for a large piece of meat or an entire bird


  1. not all air fryer copes equally well. For example, steaming is weak;
  2. not always the use of the unit is justified - the volume of the flask at the air fryer is 10-12 liters and it is not necessary to start it to heat up a couple of plates of soup, it is better to use a microwave oven;
  3. The glass bulb is very hot when the unit is running, which is not safe, especially if there are small children in the house.

And some recipes I have tried:

For the quick preparation of pizza you will need:

  • ham or sausage;
    tomatoes, peppers, cheese, mushrooms;
    3 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
    3 tablespoons flour;
    soda (slaked with vinegar)

How to cook:

mix the batter from the egg, flour and soda extinguished with vinegar;
we cut sausage, tomatoes, cheese, mushrooms;
warm up the unit;
the dough is poured into a mold, greased with vegetable oil and baked for 10 minutes at 230-240 ° C and medium speed;
then the filling is put on the dough;

after smoking, we grease the fish with oil, sprinkle with spices to taste and wrap in foil for cooling.

How to smoke meat in the air fryer:

wash the meat;
rub garlic, salt, seasonings to taste and "liquid smoke";
leave to marinate for an hour;
heat the air fryer and put alder chips on the bottom, lay the meat on the lower or middle shelf. To make the meat better soaked, pour a little water into the pan;
the program of air fryer: 240⁰C, time - half an hour, the average speed of the fan.
Grilled chicken in the air fryer
For a simple recipe for grilled chicken, you will need:

the chicken carcass of 1.2-2.5 kg;
a packet of curry spices;
half a lemon;
a pinch of red pepper;
