I am now proudly displaying my fall foliage for all to see - who(what) am I you may ask? I am a Crape Myrtle (botanical name Lagerstroemia).

Lagerstroemia /ˌleɪɡərˈstriːmiə/,[1] commonly known as crape myrtle or crepe myrtle, is a genus of around 50 species of deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs native to the Indian Subcontinent, southeast Asia, northern Australia and parts of Oceania, cultivated in warmer climates around the world. It is a member of the Lythraceae, which is also known as the loosestrife family. The genus is named after the Swedish merchant Magnus von Lagerström, who supplied Carolus Linnaeus with plants he collected. These flowering trees are beautifully colored and are often planted both privately and commercially. Popular varieties used in modern landscaping include the bright red Dynamite Crape Myrtle, the deep pink Pink Velour Crape and the purple Twilight Crape Myrtle, which also has a bark that changes colors.

Lisa beautiful tree. The is better than the color we got here in CT this year.
I wish we still had a few trees with some color on them
Well indeed crepe myrtles are lovely, now who cleans up the leaves in the winter...?? just kidding well worth the trouble, Endre
Definitely gorgeous, Lisa. LOVE the color but wouldn’t want to clean up the leaves!
Have a great weekend!
Jeff
Good morning Lisa.
I believe we have one planted in our front yard. One of my wife's favorites
Hi Lisa... I have a crepe myrtle tree in my front yard... hot pink flowers from June through September. But it does not change colors this way. Yours is gorgeous indeed.
I have a picture I guess I need to share of our very short time of Fall colors in Oklahoma City.
I would certainly have to say that you are indeed a gorgeous tree! Thanks for sharing this with us!
I had one in my yard that was brilliant red when I returned from Chicago. Then the rains and winds came and I never got a photo. Thanks for sharing yours.
You bet...Mom Nature's paintbrush....nothing like it !
Good morning Lisa - you have great fall colors. Better than the northeast as George Souto mentions. I think you had more rain. A rainy summer makes a colorful fall.
