I just had an Mass Energy Audit and they changed every light bulb in my house to LED.... for FREE.... their cost $800....weatherstripping with an expensive product on all doors....sealed everything in the basement .,,,, FREE.... and I bought an addition 4" of insulation that they installed in my attic.....my cost $685....their cost $2,700....

I know that's happening!!!

Shut 'er down if you are not using. All the plugged in devices are like idling gas hogs when you add it up. Dryers use beaucoup juice... don't wash just Suzy's favorite pair of jeans she needs for the big dance just a hour away... or just those same prized pants in the round and round expensive dryer. Plan better, do full loads.

I decided a long time ago that at this stage of my life I'm not worrying about my electric bills. It may not be pc of me, but at some point there are comforts in life I don't want to do without.

Good morning Lisa. Living in an apartment in the sky, don't give it much thought. My electric and gas bill are a fraction of what it cost in my former homes. Enjoy your day!

Morning Lisa.

Now I've got to go check and see how many of these I have, and pull the plug on them

Posted by James Dray, Exceptional Agents, Outstanding Results (Fathom Realty) almost 2 years ago

Lisa, I remember a blog posted in the last week or two where the homeowner had everything unplugged.   That is what our electric company recommends too, to keep your bill down.  I don't unplug the computer or TVs and lamps, but almost everything else.

Lisa my house is all electric, so thank you for the tips.

I try not to leave anything plugged in that doesn't need to run 24/7, for me it is not much of a hassle to plug in my charger before I will be using it.

I like my comforts too Nina Hollander but I can't stand to pay the electric company when I could use that money elsewhere!

Good morning Lisa.  This is excellent advice for all of us.  I've seen some huge drops in my electric bill after my largest energy vampire (my stepson) moved out of the house.
