This is a reblog in honor of our rescue puppies that came home with us three years ago...and oh my, how they have grown. I hope you will enjoy their story and the pictures of how they look now...
As many of you know (and thank you for all of the kind words) our
oldest and largest 4-legged child past away over the weekend. Brutus
was my big soldier, 14 and a half years old and he passed peacefully
in his sleep. Today I went to the shelter that we adopted him from
to sponsor a run in his name to help other dogs waiting for their
"furever" homes. Well the same thing happened that brought him into
our lives, you see we adopted Brutus when we went to the shelter to
sponsor a memorial for another passed dog...this time we brought home
not one, but two new babies that were waiting for their furever homes.
These two gorgeous puppies were from a litter of seven and they were
the only two left. After learning their story, they had both had health
problems and the female was adopted once but had been returned, my
husband and I couldn't bear to separate them, so we adopted them both.
They are Doberman Pinscher / German Shepherd mixes,
and are twelve weeks old. Please meet our new son and daughter,
Heidi and Heinreich. So now our home is back to five rescue dogs, the
three at home have welcomed their new siblings with resounding woofs.

Good morning Lisa. Your furry kids have it made at a house filled with love and ample room to roam. Enjoy your day
Good morning Lisa. Wow, it has been three years already. They were and are beautiful.
Good morning Wayne Martin they do give unconditional love and the love to run their yard with their brother and sister!
Thank you Sheila Anderson hard to believe they have been ours that long...they send happy "woofs" to your pups!
Good morning, Lisa Von Domek when I see that massive yard and room to roam, I think all of your dogs must be so happy to be part of your family....
Good morning Barbara Todaro they do love to roam their yard and chase the squirrels!
Lisa,
What beautifful new pups, and I am glad they found a great home with both of you. A
Thank you Ron and Alexandra Seigel they were certainly a handful as puppies, so much energy...they still have energy to spare, but they know their manners.
Wow, they certainly have grown quite a bit and they look like they are very happy and well taken care of.
What beautiful , healthy dogs - clearly well-loved!!
Hello Lisa, Wow they have grown and so glad they make you so happy. Thanks for sharing with us.
Such beauties, Lisa! You are so fortunate to have them in your lives and they are to have you in theirs! Perfect, really!
This so much reminded me of our German Shepherd. We had 2" x 4" mesh in "his" welded wire fenced back yard. First day out as a pup he got his head stuck in it a year later his snout couldn't fit through. He was a big one!
I always say if you're going to have a dog, have a big one and you have two beauties here. I won't say they're spoiled but content is obviously spelled out in their faces.
What beautiful dogs. I love to see how they grow in such a short period of time.
Thank you Brian England they are very happy pups indeed...and only two of our four!
Thank you Linda Piper we also have another (bigger) girl and older boy who were not pictured.
Thank you Will Hamm they are robust as Heinreich weighs in at 120 pounds and Heidi at 85 pounds!
Thank you Nina Hollander I can't imagine a life without my dogs, four can be a handful, but nothing we can't handle!
Oh, that is funny Kevin J. May . One of my cutest rescues was a German Shepherd/Dachshund mix...yes, you read that right! Of course, the Shepherd was the mommy.
Thank you Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty I agree, they are beautiful..of course, as their Mom, I am prejudiced in their favor!
What fine looking new additions to the family. So glad you have a big heart and are willing to open your home, Lisa.
Hi Lisa. These guys are lucky to have found you and it looks like they are enjoying their lives.
Nothing can fill your heart in the way that our "furever family" does...!
Good afternoon Lisa - I had to stop when I saw the title. My how they have grown and they have everything now with a loving home and a large property to roam.
No matter how they grow they always stay puppies to me.
What a couple of cuties they are !!!
