Here is a delicious and cool summer recipe for the hot summer days or special occasions. From the folks at Daisy Brand - here is their recipe for quick, easy, and tasty Apple Waldorf Salad:
Prep Time: 10 MINUTES
Time to Table: 10 MINUTES
Serves: 4 (3/4 CUP PER SERVING)
Ingredients
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 Red Delicious apple
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 tablespoon chopped pecans
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 1 dash nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon light mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Daisy Sour Cream

Directions
Chop unpeeled apples and sprinkle with lemon juice. Add all other ingredients together with apples in a bowl and combine gently. *Optional: Refrigerate for several hours to combine flavors if desired.

My mom made the best Waldorf salad but always used walnuts, added little marsh mellows and sometimes added raisins! Its funny what you remember.

This was my dad's favorites, as well as mine. Haven't had it in such a long time.
I haven't had a good Waldorf salad in a very long time, I really enjoy them though! I might have to try to make one myself with this recipe!
