CHICKEN FAJITAS

Prep Time: 15 MINUTES

Time to Table: 15 MINUTES

Serves: 6

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cups frozen onion and bell pepper stir-fry mix
  • 12 6-inch soft flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup Daisy Sour Cream

Directions

Mix the cumin, chili powder, brown sugar, garlic powder, cornstarch and salt in medium bowl. Add the chicken strips; toss until coated. Heat the oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken to the skillet. Cook and stir for 5 to 7 minutes or until no longer pink in the center. Add the onion and pepper mix; cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently. Meanwhile, warm the flour tortillas as directed on package. For each, spoon 1/4 cup chicken mixture on one half of the tortilla. Top a dollop of sour cream. Fold over to serve.

Morning Lisa.

Dallas is within my travel area so, when is dinner being served?

This is certainly a great suggestion for long on taste and short on time summer menus !

This is a yummy-looking recipe, Lisa. Will save it and try it out sometime. Can't remember the last time I made fajitas.

Looks pretty good and would be a nice option for someone that is on the go and doesn't have much time.

Lisa sounds good.  We do chicken fajitas and chicken tacos often for dinner.  It is a fairly quick meal and my wife and I really enjoy them.

I might need to do this one for myself because my wife does not eat meat.

We used to make these for tailgating and haven't done so in awhile! I think I like your recipe better and will definitely be adding it to the bookmarks to try soon, Lisa!

Have a great week ahead!

Just looking at these makes me hungry, Lisa.  I will order out and have some delivered.  (I'm too lazy to cook them up.)

Lisa, I love chicken fajitas, and never use tortillas.   I use a packet for the seasoning, and even with frozen boneless chicken, takes only 20 minutes from start to finish.  YUM!
