The Third Quarter of 2018 Is Drawing To A Close - How Are Your Goals?

When it comes to a goal, you can’t just “set it and forget it”!

Set Goals

Goals are important to set both short-term and long-term to keep us balanced and focused (and sane!)  It is so easy to just go through day-to-day and fall into an abyss of despair.  Setting a goal each day, each week, each month and for the year (and beyond) allows us the opportunity to achieve that sense of accomplishment that serves our well-being.  Many times your goal(s) will include helping someone else achieve theirs…this is a win-win!

So start your day with this goal, give yourself the opportunity to make this the first day to achieve a regular schedule of patting yourself on the back for reaching your goal(s).

To help inspire you, here are some great quotes:

1)    “Beaten paths are for beaten men.”  Eric A. Johnston

2)    “Concentrate your energies and work hard.  Launch out in new experiments.  Never be afraid to have the courage of your opinions.  Fix the lines you want to travel along and keep on them.  That’s all.”  A.C.W. Harmsworth

3)    “You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures.”  Charles C. Noble

Find more information about the men behind these quotes at Wikipedia.

So, what is your goal for today, this week, this month, this year?!!!  Mine are on track and actually slightly ahead so I continue with my marketing strategy and checklists to meet (and beat) my goals by year end!

Good afternoon Lisa - agreed.  All goals have purpose.  We need short term ones to see that we are meeting our mileposts and doing so keeps us upbeat.

We are ahead of our goals for the year, so that's great. But, I am focusing on my daily to-dos and making sure I'm still motivated instead of just calling it a year. And, planning for 2019 already as well! -Kasey

It is hard to believe we are in the home stretch of the year. 2019 is around the corner.

I am so ambitious that I am always behind my goals, never been ahead, there is one Goal I have been chasing now for 8+ years, when I reach that I might write about it:)Endre

Hi Lisa, I like the first quote.  Memorable!  Thanks for reminding us all to set goals.  Too often we fall into the rut of beaten paths!

Oh, the end of this quarter is creeping up on me, Lisa! I do have my goals but, have had a few distractions this week! Other than that, I'm ahead of my target and may just take the month of December off! LOL

Happy Friday!

Love it!  My goals are clear but it's always a good idea to have a visual reminder.  I keep white boards with YTD and gross and another one with A clients on the short list to buy or sell.  Those keep me pretty focused, but I think daily goals in a place would be an excellent reminder.  Visuals are key for me besides having them written.  Great post and a reminder!
