A funny video that is a great reminder of what can happen...
Jeanne Moos with CNN posts this important video as to why you should never park in front of a fire hydrant - at a least, not if you want your car intact!
Don't let this happen to you!
Thank you Merced Fire Department, CNN and Youtube for the video.

WOW! what was a stupid driver to park in front of one, they deserved it....lol
Good morning Lisa. They get what they deserve! And they deserve a ticket to boot. Enjoy your day
Good morning Lisa Von Domek,
There is a reason you're not to park in front of a fire hydrant. This video is a good one because it will help you recall what can happen if you are even thinking about it!
Well if you are stupid enough to park there...I guess you really don't care about the safety of others or the consequences.
Never quite thought of it that way, Lisa. Loved the video.
I've seen this before, Lisa. It was a very appropriate response from the firemen.
People should be smarter than that and there is usually a no parking sign by the hydrants, haha.
Lisa: It looks like this car owner forgot to take their smart pill. I bet they never make the mistake of parking in front of a fire hydrant again.
Good morniong Lisa. I had seen this before but enjoyed it again nonetheless. TY
Lisa if someone is irresponsible enough to park in front of a fire hydrant they deserve this to happen to them
Good morning, Lisa --- YIKES! Lesson learned? I wonder...
Tough way to learn a lesson. There's no way I'd park in front of a fire hydrant though, goofy choice by the driver.
Oh Geeze. They will never make that mistake again!
We've got firefighters in the family and there's no smiling when this occurs, at least not until after everyone is found safe. No empathy here!
Well the person who parked there a) got exactly what they deserved b) will never park in front of a hydrant again.
While I know not to park in front of a hydrant, I thought that was so the truck/firefighters could get to it quickly. I didn't even think about the fact that the hose needs to be straight to have the most water pressure. You learn something new every day!
Dear Lisa,
And here I thought not parking in front of a hydrant was just good manners. Having this happen would enforce the concept even for the most ignorant.
